San Salvador
San Salvador, the capital of El Salvador, is located in the central part of the country at the foot of the San Salvador Volcano, about 35 km from the Pacific coast. The city is home to 316,000 people, while the entire metropolitan area has 2.1 million residents. Despite numerous destructions caused by earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, important landmarks such as the Metropolitan Cathedral and the National Palace have been preserved. The climate is tropical, with temperatures ranging from 20 to 30 °C. The best time to visit San Salvador is during the dry season, from November to April.
